Another surprise at the World Cup.
The European vice-champion Germany national team lost 1:2 to Colombia in Group H matches.
In the 52nd minute, the Colombian team took the lead after a goal by Linda Caicedo. In the 89th minute, forward Alexandra Hopp equalized the score from the penalty spot.
However, Colombia managed to create a surprise during added time. Manuelos Vanegas' goal secured an unexpected victory for the South American team.
This was the first defeat of the German women's national team in the World Cup group stage since 1995.
