On Wednesday, two postponed matches were played in the French "Ligue 1", where the teams "Bordeaux" and "Nancy" as well as "Lyon" and "Rennes" met.

Playing at home, the "Lyon" footballers would have secured their sixth consecutive French champion title in these matches, but they failed to do so - the match with "Rennes" ended in a goalless draw.

In the other Wednesday match, last year's vice-champion club "Bordeaux" convincingly defeated the team "Nancy", which had surprised everyone at the beginning of the season, with a score of 3-0 and kept their hopes alive to fight for a place in the next season's UEFA Champions League tournament. Bordeaux's footballers took the lead in the 18th minute of the match, when Marouane Chamakh scored a goal. Just over two minutes before the end of the first half, M. Chamakh scored again and doubled his team's lead. The final goal in this match, after about 10 minutes of playing in the second half, was scored by the Argentine forward Fernando Cavenaghi.
