The group stage of the Women's World Cup is approaching its end.
Japan crushed Spain 4-0 in Group C matches. Hinata Miyazawa scored a brace, while Riko Ueki and Mina Tanaka each added a goal.
Interestingly, in the men's World Cup group stage, the Spanish national team also lost to Japan (1-2).
Zambia took third place in Group C, defeating Costa Rica 3-1.
In Group B, the hosts advanced to the knockout stage. Australia beat Olympic runners-up Canada 4-0, sending them out of the tournament.
Nigeria played a goalless draw against Ireland, which was enough to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.
Nigeria were the lowest-ranked team in Group B at No. 40.
