Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon does not plan to play professional football anymore.
As journalist Fabrizio Romano reports, the 45-year-old Italian has decided to hang up his gloves.
The player will officially announce his decision in the coming days.
G. Buffon spent his last seasons at the "Parma" team - where he took his first steps in his goalkeeper career.
He also spent 19 years at Turin's "Juventus" team, one season at Paris Saint-Germain club.
In his trophy collection, G. Buffon has accumulated ten "Serie A" champion medals, a gold medal from the French league, three UEFA Champions League runner-up awards, and other titles.
With the Italian national team, he became a world champion in 2006.
This summer, the veteran was also tempted by an unnamed club from Saudi Arabia, but the player declined a €15 million annual contract offer.
