Success for the World Cup champions.
In the quarterfinals of the World Cup, the Australian women's team defeated France after an 11-meter penalty shoot-out.
The main time ended with a score of 0-0, and it took as many as 20 penalties in the shoot-out. In total, 7 penalties were inaccurate. Nevertheless, Australian football star Sam Kerr converted her penalty.
It was a precise strike from Cortnee Vine that decided everything.
Australia will face the winner of the England-Colombia pair in the semi-finals.
