Valdo Dambrauskas' coached Crete OFI team successfully started the season in the Greek league.

In the first round, the team from the Greek island defeated "Aris" football players 3:2.

After 38 minutes, Valdas Dambrauskas' players had a 2-goal advantage, but "Aris" football players equalized the score in the 64th minute.

However, in extra time, Juan Angelis Neira changed the score and the OFI team dramatically scored their first 3 points in this season.

"Aris" finished 5th last season in the Greek Superleague, and this season they participated in the Conference League qualifiers. The 7th-placed Crete OFI players from last season would like to at least replicate such an achievement.

After the match, the name of Valdas Dambrauskas was cheered by the most loyal OFI fans.

In the next round, the Crete team will face the "Asteras" team away, and before the international break, they will also face PAOK at home.
