Sir Alex Ferguson stated that the team has been hit by a major player injury crisis after defender Rio Ferdinand was forced to leave the field during Saturday's match.

The experienced Englishman suffered a groin injury again, which will likely keep him out of action for about two weeks.

R. Ferdinand will probably miss both UEFA Champions League semi-final matches against AC Milan, but there is hope that he will recover in time for the crucial English championship clash on May 9 against London's Chelsea.

"At the moment I have only 12 players available, as all others are injured," said A. Ferguson.

In the list of players unable to play, R. Ferdinand joins defenders Nemanja Vidic (collarbone), Gary Neville (ankle), midfielder Park Ji-sung (knee), and striker Louis Saha (knee).
