On Sunday, 33 matches were played in the Italian league. Milan's "Inter" club secured the title of league champions by defeating the "Siena" team away. Securing the title for the Milan team was made possible by "Roma's" failure away against "Atalanta". Meanwhile, "Fiorentina" achieved a crucial victory away against "Lazio".

The "Inter" team won 2-1 against the "Siena" club away. The champions scored both goals with defender Marco Materazzi.

"Inter" took the lead in the 18th minute. After a corner kick near the hosts' goal, there was a mess in the penalty area of "Siena". "Inter" defender Maicon took a shot at goal, but the hosts' defender cleared the ball from the goal line, only for the ball to fall to M. Materazzi, who directed it into the goal. However, "Inter" only led for three minutes. In the 21st minute, "Siena" veteran Paolo Negro equalized the result with a precise header.

In the 58th minute, the visitors scored the decisive goal that brought them the title of champions. Taking advantage of opponent Andrea Rossi's mistake, Julio Cruz found himself with the ball in the opponents' penalty area. "Siena's" goalkeeper Alex Manninger approached him, and the two players collided. The referee awarded a penalty kick to "Siena". It was successfully converted by M. Materazzi, scoring his second goal.

The only team that still had a chance to catch up with the "Inter" team, "Roma", lost 1-2 away to the "Atalanta" team and lost their chances of fighting for the title.

In the 71st minute, the "Fiorentina" team scored the only goal of the match. Martin Jorgensen was left unmarked on the left side of the field and his pass reached Adrian Mutu, who scored with a header to secure the victory for his team.
