The match started with a strong Klaipėda attack towards the visitors' goal. In the first five minutes, the hosts had several real chances to score a quick goal, but the shots missed the target. Around the fifteenth minute, the balance on the field levelled out completely. There were no more dangerous opportunities for either side. The game was dominated in the middle of the field, with no particularly threatening attacks emerging.
In the 35th minute, "Atlantas" once again pressed their opponents in their penalty area, and Rimantas Žvingilas had several very dangerous shots on goal.
At the end of the first half, Povilas Šarūnas intercepted the ball, passed it to the Croatian legionnaire Mateo Silič, who skillfully deceived several opponents, broke through the right flank, lifted the ball into the penalty area, but Mindaugas Daunoravičius failed to send the ball into the goal while being completely free.
After the major break, the situation on the field remained unchanged. The ball was held more in the middle of the field, and only the Klaipėda team managed to create one or two more dangerous attacks.
With 15 minutes left until the end of the match, the seaport team players launched a decisive attack. Pressing the opponents' goal firmly, they had at least four real chances to score. However, the "Inter's" goalkeeper Piotras Dubrovskis seemed like an impregnable wall.
Blindly attacking the opponent's goal, the hosts forgot about their own. In the last 8 minutes, Visaginas' team players also had several opportunities.
In the 89th minute, the match referee Paulius Malžinskas made an unfavorable decision for the hosts. R. Žvingilas broke through on the right and was brought down in the penalty area, but the referee did not dare to award a penalty kick at the end of the match.
This was the second point earned by Klaipėda's "Atlantas" in this year's "A Lyga" championship. Visaginas' "Inter" also takes home their second point from Klaipėda, securing the 9th place. The seaport footballers remain at the bottom of the "A Lyga" tournament table.
