Virgil van Dijk may miss more than 3 matches after receiving a red card in the game against Newcastle.
Paul Joyce from The Times reports that Liverpool's captain has been punished by the FA (Football Association).
The Dutchman violated rule E3.1. According to the FA, he behaved disrespectfully and/or insulted the match official with foul language after receiving a red card.
Most likely, this means that another match will be added to the three-match suspension.
The next four Liverpool matches in the Premier League are: Aston Villa (home), Wolves (away), West Ham (home), Tottenham (away).
Virgil Van Dijk has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3.1 following Liverpool’s Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday, 27 August.
