On Sunday, two remaining matches of the 33rd round of the "Ligue 1" championship were played in French football stadiums, where "Auxerre" met "Lyon" and "Saint-Etienne" met "Bordeaux".

On Saturday, "Lyon", who secured their sixth consecutive champion title, played Sunday's match relaxed, as even a loss to "Auxerre" would have guaranteed the "Ligue 1" champions title to the team's footballers. Nevertheless, "Auxerre" couldn't break through the defense of "Lyon", who had only conceded 23 goals throughout all matches this season, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

In the other Sunday match for the spots in next season's European tournaments, the clubs "Saint-Etienne" and "Bordeaux" clashed. This time, the visitors from Bordeaux were victorious. The vice-champions of the previous season's "Ligue 1" defeated their opponents with a score of 0-2 and moved up to the third place in the league table, trailing just one point behind the achievement from last year - the second place. The goals for the winners were scored in the second half at the 50th and 90th minutes respectively by Fernando Menegazzo and Gabriel Obertan.
