Valdas Dambrauskas, coached team OFI from Crete, started the season in Greece successfully.
After 3 rounds, the team from the Greek island has 6 points. In the first round, they dramatically defeated the "Aris" club 3:2, in the second round they had to recognize the superiority of the "Asteras Tripolis" team with a score of 0:3, and in the third round another giant was defeated - 1:0 against Salonika's PAOK after Leroy Abanda's goal in extra time.
With 6 points, they currently hold 2nd place after 3 rounds. Although other rivals (PAOK and "Panathinaikos") have also collected 6 points each, the head-to-head advantage allows them to "stand" higher in the tournament table.
However, AEK and "Panathinaikos" have played one game fewer due to the Champions League qualifiers.
Last season, Crete's OFI finished in seventh place. The first five places guarantee a spot in Europe.
