In the 6th round match of the A League in the capital, FC "Vilnius" crushed the tournament's underdog "Šilutė" and became the league leader in terms of goal difference.

From the beginning of the match, "Vilnius" took the initiative and created one attack after another. The first dangerous shot came from Andreson in the 12th minute, but the long-range free kick flew over the goal.
Shortly after, the game evened out, but later the Vilnius team regained the initiative. In the 25th minute, a dangerous header after a pass from R.Radavičius was shot by Kleyr, and shortly after, after a corner kick, Paulinho shot over the goal from the penalty area.
In the 29th minute, the first goal fell - Muller ran past the goalkeeper and directed the ball into the bottom corner of the goal.
The hosts continued at a high tempo and attacked. In the 37th minute, after V.Lukša's shot, Muller deflected the ball's trajectory, but it missed the goalpost.
Just before halftime, the score became 2-0. After a pass from the corner, "Šilutė" defender Tadas Kijanskas failed to communicate with goalkeeper Aidas Fabijonas and unexpectedly directed the ball into his own goal.
After the break, the picture on the field did not change. The Pamario players only attacked when the opponents allowed them to do so.
Meanwhile, the Vilnius team continued to create opportunities - Everton shot from afar just over the crossbar, and a dangerous shot from V.Lukša was blocked by A.Fabijonas. However, the latter could not save his team in the 73rd minute, when Kleyr, falling with his head after V.Lukša's lifted corner, accurately shot into the goal. Eight minutes later, this Brazilian scored another goal with his head, this time after a pass from R.Radavičius.
At the end of the match, Rodolfo Kumbrevicius, who came on as a substitute, could have increased the score, but the Brazilian of Lithuanian descent lacked accuracy.
Interestingly, in this match, the coaching staff of "Šilutė" was joined by Eugenijus Riabovas, recently dismissed from "Kaunas".
After the victory, "Vilnius" collected 12 points and shares 1st-3rd places with "Kaunas" and "Žalgiris". Meanwhile, "Šilutė" remains with 2 points.
