Former Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed more about his time coaching the "devils."
Asked about squad reinforcements, the coach revealed that he was not allowed to bring in desired players: "We couldn't buy the players I suggested to the club. Erling Haaland, before he even debuted for Salzburg, Declan Rice, who was not expensive at the time. We considered Moises Caicedo, but we needed players ready to perform here and now."
Solskjaer named Bruno Fernandes as his best signing: "Bruno Fernandes arrived and immediately lifted the team."
Regarding Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival, the Norwegian responded: "It was a decision that was very difficult to refuse and I felt that it needed to be done, but I was wrong. I felt like I made the right decision when he joined and the fans felt it in the game against Newcastle, that day Old Trafford exploded."
Solskjaer evaluated the whole period like this: "I'm not angry. I'm disappointed because I didn't do my dream job as I had hoped. I wanted to work for half a year and enjoy it. I did enjoy it, especially the game against PSG. I also had great moments, like when I got the job as permanent coach. Victories against City away, especially at home. I have never seen Old Trafford so lively."
