The owner of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, responded to former team player Lionel Messi's comments.

This week, the Argentinean complained to the media that he did not receive proper respect at the French club when he triumphed with his national team at the World Cup.

"Everyone saw that we released a video, and also celebrated with the player during training and in a private setting.

But with all due respect, I wanted to remind that we are a French team.

That's why it was too sensitive to celebrate at the stadium. We must respect the defeated country, the players of the French national team, and our fans," said N. Al-Khelaifi.
