German national team defender Christian Ziege will play for the club next season, with which he has signed a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old defender, called up to the national team instead of Christian Rahn, is currently preparing in Portugal for the upcoming European Championship starting this weekend.
Ziege was a free agent for a while because his contract with English club was not extended. Now he has become the fifth new face in the team "Gladbach", as this club has already signed contracts with Milan Fukal, Oliver Neuville, Darius Kampa, and Sead Ramovic.
"Gladbach" director Christian Hochstatter was pleased with Ziege's arrival: "Christian is very experienced and will undoubtedly help stabilize our defensive line. We were looking for a left-sided player, and he fits perfectly. I am very happy that he agreed to join the team."
