The „Milan“ team eager for a new stadium has started intensively developing their plans.
The „Serie A“ club plans to build a 70,000-seat arena in the southern part of the city.
It is reported that the „red and blacks“ have already submitted a preliminary proposal for regional development to the local council.
Currently, „Milan“ is the owner of the „San Siro“ stadium since 1926, but after the 1990 World Cup, there have been no significant renovations in the arena, despite efforts by both Milan clubs to change the situation.
Last August, the local heritage commission recognized the „San Siro“ stadium as a cultural heritage site and banned its demolition. This forced both major Italian league clubs to continue searching for a new location for the future building.
