UEFA was forced to abandon the idea of returning the Russian U-17 team to international competitions.
It is reported that European football officials who announced such plans last month faced huge opposition - at least 12 federations of the Old Continent declared that they would not play against representatives of the occupying state.
Over the past two weeks, UEFA has been actively looking for opportunities to insert Russian teams into already formed qualifying groups, but ultimately these intentions ended unsuccessfully.
Representatives of Ukraine were pleased that the Russians who invaded their country will continue to stay in football isolation.
"Russian football, as it should be, will remain isolated," Ukrainians told the AP agency.
On Tuesday, UEFA officials, including organization president Aleksander Čeferin, did not dare to hold a press conference and meet with journalists.
