The biggest surprise of the 7th round of the Lithuanian Championship was recorded in Marijampolė, where the local team "Sūduva" lost to the guests from Šiauliai in front of a record number of spectators.

The match started with the guests pressing actively, creating several dangerous situations near the "Sūduva" goal. After a collision inside the penalty area, Marijampolė's goalkeeper Saulius Klevinskas got injured and had to be substituted.
The pressure from Šiauliai didn't last long, and soon the hosts completely controlled the midfield and had the upper hand in the game.
In the 7th minute, Darius Maciulevičius created an opportunity for Karolis Jasaitis, who tried to chip the ball over the goalkeeper but missed the target. The score remained unchanged.
In the 34th minute, the first goal was scored. Due to poor defending, Vaidas Viktoravičius of Šiauliai managed to pass the ball to an oncoming Mindaugas Lukoševičius, who placed the ball into the net from about 16 meters. The substitute goalkeeper Gytis Padimanskas's performance in this episode was very insecure - the ball ended up in the net after slipping through his hands.
In the last minute of the first half, Nerijus Mačiulis had a chance inside the penalty area but his shot was safely caught by the goalkeeper.
So the teams went into halftime with Šiauliai leading 1-0.
After the break, "Sūduva" tried desperately to create chances but failed to finish their attacks.
In the 59th minute, a long clearance by the Šiauliai goalkeeper ended up in the "Sūduva" penalty area. A collision between Gytis Padimanskas and Marius Skinderis allowed Viktoras Raskovas of Šiauliai to score the second goal for the guests.
In the 69th minute, a free kick from Willer Oliveira almost found its way into the net, but an impressive save from the Šiauliai goalkeeper prevented the goal.
Another attempt by Oliveira in the 74th minute missed the target, keeping the score unchanged.
In the 81st minute, after a substitution, Vitalijus Šuganovas received a precise pass but failed to score as the ball ended up in the goalkeeper's hands.
Although "Sūduva" tried to create opportunities for a goal in the remaining time, their technical flaws prevented them from reducing the gap.
Meanwhile, Šiauliai's player Gediminas Butavičius almost scored a goal during added time, but Gytis Padimanskas managed to keep the ball out of the net.
So the disciplined Šiauliai team celebrated a victory in these matches, disappointing the large number of spectators in Marijampolė and experiencing their first failure at home this season.
