Alex wants to go to "Chelsea" © EuroFootball.com

The central defender of Eindhoven Alex hopes to fulfill his old dream this summer and move to London. The 24-year-old footballer has been a member of the current English champions since 2004, but for the past three years, he has been loaned out to Dutch teams due to not being able to legally obtain a work permit in England because of a small number of matches played for the Brazilian national team.

However, after the national championship, in which Eindhoven club triumphed again after a dramatic battle, Alex stated that all the formalities will be sorted out in the coming months and he will be able to go to Great Britain.

"The possibility of leaving PSV is quite large," the Brazilian told the newspaper "De Telegraaf".

"At the moment, representatives of Chelsea are working very hard to get that permission for me. They have already managed to do it with Salomon Kalou and several other players earlier, and everything turned out great."

However, the likelihood that Alex will actually go to London is somewhat reduced by the fact that the footballer wants a guaranteed playing time. Currently, Chelsea's central defense is formed by John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho, so the Brazilian's chances of displacing one of them seem very slim.

"It's a great club, but the most important thing is that I play there. If I go there and just sit on the bench, it will be very difficult. But, whatever happens, everything will become clear to me once I am there," Alex said.

It is worth noting that this season Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho had major problems due to injuries in the defense line, as William Gallas and Robert Huth left the team just before the start of the season.

As a result, the center defenders often had to be covered by full-backs, and the safe-playing Michael Essien was often forced to move back into the depths of the field.
