One of the main heroes of Tuesday's victory in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against London's blacksmiths Pepe Reina's house was visited and significantly emptied by thieves during the match.
In the morning, after returning home following the celebration of the victory with his team friends, the 24-year-old Spaniard missed a lot of valuable items at his home in Volton, South Liverpool, including a new "Porsche Cayenne" car.
However, the police soon found the latter burned, and P. Reina himself refused to comment on the incident.
This is not the first time that in England, footballers from the country's strongest clubs who earn huge amounts of money these days become victims of theft.
In 2006, upon returning from vacation in Poland, P. Reina's colleague in the Liverpool team Jerzy Dudek found his house burgled. The footballer also lost a lot of personal items, valuables, and... the same "Porsche" car.
The thieves' visit was also received by 'Reds' defender Daniel Agger and attacker Peter Crouch, while another Liverpool team's "Everton" legionnaire from the Netherlands, Andy van der Meyde, was robbed twice in 2006.
