The only goal of the match came in the 64th minute, scored by Anthony Gordon. However, the home fans had to endure a lot of nerves as the goal was being reviewed in the VAR room. Initially, they checked if the ball did not leave the field boundaries just before the goal was scored, then they reviewed a possible offside, and finally - a possible foul. Nevertheless, in the end, it was decided to count the goal.

After conceding the goal, Arsenal tried to create pressure on the opponent's goal, but Newcastle defended solidly and secured three points.

Newcastle now has 20 points on their account after this victory, moving into sixth place in the league table, while Arsenal with 24 points is currently in third place.
