M. Arteta assessed the referees' performance: "The result should be different - this is a shame

Mikel Arteta after his „Arsenal“ team's match with „Newcastle United“ in the press conference and speaking with „Sky Sports“ expressed his frustration.

In a match filled with questionable referee decisions, „Newcastle“ defeated the visitors from London 1:0.

After the match, M. Arteta said:  „The result shouldn't be what it is. It's a shame. 

„Shame on what happened. How can such a goal be allowed in the „Premier“ league.. We call this league the best in the world.

„I've been in this league for 20 years, and now I feel ashamed because of it.“

During Newcastle's goal, referees and VAR assessed three different situations: offside, potential handball, and a foul, but none were called. Additionally, a rough challenge by Bruno Guimaraes was also recorded during the match, which could have led to a red card.

„It was a painful match for Arsenal and in terms of the league table, as „Manchester City“ secured their win.
