After a 3-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League second leg semi-final match against the team, Italian side "Milan" head coach Carlo Ancelotti called the game "a dream come true."
"I think every coach dreams of playing the first half like we did. We performed perfectly and won the match in the first 45 minutes," said the coach of the "red and black" team.
"Milan", after losing away to "Man Utd" 3-2, avenged themselves at home with a 3-0 result and secured the right to play in the prestigious European tournament final for the third time in the last five years.
"Man Utd" is a strong club, but we played excellently in their stadium, which gave us a chance to perform well in the second leg. Reaching the final of the tournament, especially this year, was simply indescribably amazing as many underrated us. You can imagine how happy we are right now," added the strategist.
The Italian team will face another English club, "Liverpool," in the UEFA Champions League final on May 23 in the Greek capital, Athens. They lost to "Liverpool" in a penalty shootout two years ago in the final.
"I have won several trophies... The match against 'Liverpool' will be very interesting because this team has a different style than 'Man Utd.' They have less finesse but are physically and psychologically stronger," said C. Ancelotti.
After the final whistle at the "San Siro" stadium, "Man Utd" coach Sir Alex Ferguson and C.Ancelotti shook hands.
"He praised me because everyone saw how well 'Milan' played. We are extremely happy," said the "Milan" coach.
The achievements of the "Milan" team under C.Ancelotti's guidance are impressive - in 2003, "Milan" defeated Turin's "Juventus" on penalties and won the UEFA Champions League, and two years later, they also had to admit defeat to "Liverpool" in a penalty shootout.
"I think there are teams that perform better in cup competitions. Such matches are special in terms of tempo, mood, and focus.
