The businessman from Lithuania Vladimir Romanov's Edinburgh team is preparing for the next season to play friendly matches against the past season's champions of Europe and Spain.
The current leaders of the Spanish championship will train in Scotland a week before the season and will first face "Dundee United" on July 26, and then test their strength against "Hearts" two days later.
The matches in Edinburgh will not be played at the "Tynecastle" stadium, but at the much larger "Murrayfield", where the Scotland rugby team plays.
"This will be a very special opportunity for 'Hearts' fans and football fans in Scotland in general," said Edinburgh club president Roman Romanov.
It is interesting that "Dundee United" has defeated "Barcelona" footballers more than once. Twenty years ago, on their way to the UEFA Cup final, they unexpectedly defeated the Barcelona footballers with results of 1-0 and 2-1, while in 1966-1967 "Dundee Utd" celebrated victories with results of 2-0 and 2-1.
Meanwhile, "Hearts" has not only never played against the Catalan superclub but also has not defeated any Spanish club in European cup tournaments.
