On Thursday in Seville there was a response UEFA Europa League match between local Sevilla and Pamplona's Osasuna teams. The hosts secured victory in these match (2-0) and a ticket to the league final. After the match, both team coaches shared their thoughts with journalists at the press conference.
Sevilla's head coach Juande Ramos did not hide his joy about the opportunity to defend the UEFA Europa League title: "We are very happy to play in the final, this will be our second final in a row. Achieving such a result is very difficult and few teams have managed to do what we did. I think we proved our dominance, even though Osasuna was a threatening opponent, we were able to show that we are stronger. We lost the first match in Pamplona because the opponents played organized."
In today's match, Luis Fabiano's goal was very important for us, we needed to score before halftime and it was easier to accomplish the task - to score two goals in the match. Finishing the speech, I would like to congratulate the team of Espanyol and wish them all the best. I hope they will experience the same pleasure in the final match as we did a year ago," said Sevilla's coach.
"We had enough determination and until the first missed goal, we played well. However, after the missed goal, everything turned upside down and later we couldn't play as we did until the 37th minute. I think Sevilla deserved this victory more than us, they played as if it were the final match," admitted Osasuna's head coach Jose Angel Zidanga.
J.A. Zidanga was pleased with the dedication of his players: "Although we lost, I am proud of my players, we return to Pamplona with our heads held high. Perhaps the match did not go as we wanted, but I am convinced that every player on the field gave their all"
