One of the club leaders, X. Auzmendi, is leaving 'Kauno Žalgiris'

“Kaunas Žalgiris” football club said goodbye to another foreign player after the end of the 2023 season. Xabi Auzmendi will not return to Kaunas next season.

Last winter, the player who arrived at “Kaunas Žalgiris” from Marijampolė's “Sūduva” decided to continue his career abroad.

“I decided not to continue my career in Lithuania because I want to test myself in another country. I have already spent three years in Lithuania and I feel that it is time for me to change something. Although I felt happy in Kaunas, it is time for me to step out of my comfort zone,” said the player bidding farewell to Žalgiris.lt.

The 26-year-old Basque player played a total of 40 matches with the green and white jersey throughout the season, scoring 10 goals and making 5 assists.
