V. Stebrys continues to play in "Sūduva

Marijampolės „Sūduva“ signed a new contract with goalkeeper Vilius Stebrys, who is already entering his 7th season in the capital of Sūduva.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper arrived in Marijampolė in 2018, but spent a long time defending the goal of the reserve team.

In 2023, the goalkeeper appeared in 13 A League matches and 3 times in the LFF Cup tournament.

„After many years in the club, last season was one of the most impressive for me. We were not in a high position in the table, but the team was newly formed, there were many young players, debutants in the top league. Looking from a different perspective, I think we achieved a decent result, – said V. Stebrys. – The season was unstable for me personally. The beginning was difficult: a different speed of the game, dynamics... I felt great pleasure in playing once I adapted. I am also pleased with the healthy competition with Giedrius Zenkevičius. In such circumstances, we push each other forward, give our best in training and matches, just to be chosen for the next games.“

The goalkeeper, who has signed a new contract with the club, hopes that next season both the team and he himself will be able to delight "Sūduva" fans with better results than this year.

„The goal is to be higher in the tournament table, to delight the people who come to the stadium and support 'Sūduva' more often, – said V. Stebrys. – My personal goal is to play steadily for all the minutes received, leave all my energy in training and matches, and be a better version of myself than in 2023.“

„Sūduva“ will start preparations for the new season in mid-January, and the club's fans can already purchase 2024 club memberships and season tickets.
