The famous Chilean citizen Marcelo Salas, who hasn't stepped onto the field since December 2006, declared his intention to continue his professional football career.
Last year, M. Salas represented the "Universidad de Chile" team, and it is with this team that he hopes to compete in the next season.
The 35-year-old forward represented the strongest Italian clubs during his career: Rome's "Lazio" (1998-2001) and Turin's "Juventus" (2001-2003). With "Lazio," the footballer won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, UEFA Super Cup, two Italian Super Cups, the Italian Cup, and became a Serie A champion.
Meanwhile, with "Juventus," Salas twice became a Serie A champion, as well as winning the Italian Super Cup twice. The Chilean also defended the honor of the famous Argentine team "River Plate."
The forward also represented the Chilean national team and managed to score 35 goals. M. Salas is the player who has scored the most goals for the Chilean national team.
In 1997, the Chilean was named the best South American footballer.
