G. Sirgėdas extended the contract with "Kauno Žalgiris

Having played the best season of his career in 2023, Gratas Sirgėdas will continue to compete in Kaunas. The goalkeeper, who extended his contract with the club this week, will once again wear the "Kauno Žalgiris" jersey next season.

Celebrating his 29th birthday recently, the footballer has been playing for the club since 2017.

"I am very pleased that Gratas is staying in our team. This shows that he believes in this club and our ambitions. His attacking skills and abilities to play between opponents' defensive lines are very good. He is a long-standing player in the system who can bring points to the team," said the team's head coach, Glenn Stahl.

In the 2023 season, G. Sirgėdas was the player who directly contributed to the most team goals. In 35 matches in the Lithuanian championship, the goalkeeper scored 9 goals and made 10 assists, thus recording the best statistics of his career.

The Žalgiris player also stood out with a goal and an assist in the LFF Cup tournament, and provided an assist in the LFF Supercup final.

The "Kauno Žalgiris" football club also terminated the contract with Andrejus Karvatskis by mutual agreement.

"Kauno Žalgiris" will begin preparations for the season on January 8.
