The third newcomer of the team in this offseason who won historic bronze medals in the "Optibet A League" - "Šiauliai" team will be the addition of the Lithuanian under-21 national team captain Karolis Žebrauskas.
The 21-year-old guard grew up in the Klaipėda football school, later developed in the national football academy, and from there spread his wings to Italy, where he represented the "Udinese" youth teams. In 2020, the football player returned to Lithuania and joined the ranks of Marijampolė's "Sūduva", although he did not debut there and after half a year he moved closer to home.
In the last three seasons, the Klaipėda native played for Gargždai's "Bangos" team. In the Tiger team, Karolis played 78 games, scored 2 goals, and made 9 assists for his teammates.
"It's great to join a team that sets the highest goals for itself. I sympathize with the fact that this organization works purposefully and focuses on Lithuanians, so that was one of the essential reasons that determined my decision to link my future specifically with this city.
All team members are more or less known. There are a few players with whom I played together in youth teams, and there are others I have played against in the "Optibet A League", so I hope that adaptation to the new environment will not take long.
In the upcoming season, I will try to contribute as significantly as possible to the team's results and help achieve the set goals. We will strive to delight the football community of the City of Sun with positive results, and from the latter, we hope that they will continue to show such enthusiastic support."- shared his thoughts K. Žebrauskas.
The third newcomer of the team will wear shorts marked with the number 14 in the upcoming season.
