Review of the 9th round of A League © EuroFootball.com

On Tuesday, the 9th round matches will be played in "A League". The most interesting duel should take place in the capital, where the championship leaders, "Žalgiris" and "Vilnius", will meet. In Marijampolė, "Sūduva" will host "Atlantas", "Ekranas" will play at home against "Inter", in Vilnius "Vėtra" will face "Šiauliai", and on Wednesday, "Kaunas" will face the footballers of "Šilutė".

In the first match, the leading teams in "A League", "Žalgiris" and "Vilnius", will meet. In this match, the players of Žalgiris will be forced to play without one of their leaders - Nikolajus Misiukas. The forward will have to miss the match due to accumulated yellow cards. Also, we probably won't see the injured defender Aleksejus Dubynas on the field. For some time now, "Vilnius" has been waiting for the appearance of Aivaras Laurišas, but it is unclear whether the forward will be able to play already this Tuesday.

In Marijampolė, the teams that suffered defeats in the last round, "Sūduva" and "Atlantas", will meet. After disappointing their fans in the second consecutive match with a lackluster performance, the people of Marijampolė lost 1-3 to "Vilnius", while the Klaipėda team performed even worse, unexpectedly conceding the advantage to "Šilutė" and continuing to dig at the bottom of the tournament table.

In Panevėžys, "Ekranas" will seek the 3rd victory in a match against Visaginas' "Inter". In the last round, the Panevėžys team, still without the recovering from injury Dainius Glevickas, drew 1-1 with "Kaunas", and the Visaginas club lost 0-2 to "Vėtra" and became the underdog of the tournament.

"Kaunas" will play at home against "Šilutė". This time, the Kaunas team will be without the most productive player of "A League", Ričardas Beniušis, who was shown a red card in the last round, and other lineup changes can be expected due to the opponent.

In Vilnius, "Vėtra" will host "Šiauliai". Vilnius will be without the injured Almir Sulejmanovičius and Bobo Božinovskis, while Marijan Budimir missed a couple of matches and Dejan Milošeskis, who has recovered from an injury, is not yet ready to play the full match. "Šiauliai", who have no serious injury problems, lost 0-1 to "Žalgiris" in the last round after a tense fight.
