The agent of Joey Barton, Willie McKay, announced that the Manchester team is planning to sell his client to another club.
It is worth noting that a week ago, Manchester City suspended J. Barton until the end of the season after he punched his teammate Ousmane Dabo during training, who was taken to the hospital due to facial injuries. This is not the first attack by the 24-year-old footballer - earlier he has assaulted a fan and got into a conflict with another teammate Richard Dunne.
"I spoke with the club president Alistair Mackintosh and he said he wants to sell Joey for as much as his contract is worth - £5.5 million," said W. McKay.
Liverpool's Everton and Sunderland, who returned to the Premier League after a year break, have already shown interest in J. Barton.
Manchester City has almost secured 14th place in the English championship with one round remaining.
