“Chelsea” found themselves close to a complete fiasco.
In the first leg of the League Cup semi-final, the “aristocrats” away lost 0:1 to the “Middlesbrough” team.
Throughout the entire match, the visitors from London had more initiative, they controlled the ball, but Michael Carrick's proteges stood out. In the 37th minute, Hayden Hackney led the hosts ahead.
Cole Palmer had several good opportunities to equalize the score, but they were wasted.
The second half from the “Chelsea” side was quite bland, so before the second leg match, the “Championship” club “Middlesbrough” has a minimal advantage.
The second leg match will take place on January 23 at “Stamford Bridge” stadium.
