Radu Dragusin's transfer to Tottenham in January can be considered cult. The name and surname of the Genoa defender was unknown to many just a few years ago, but he quickly became one of the most promising Serie A defenders.
The 21-year-old Romanian was actively interested in Napoli and Tottenham clubs, but at the last minute the big Bayern Munich club rushed in.
In the end, Genoa accepted offers from both London and Munich clubs, and the player himself decided to move to the Premier League.
During the negotiations, R. Dragusin's agent Florin Manea spoke a lot to the press: "I can't believe we rejected Bayern Munich's offer."
Rada gave his word to Tottenham and decided to stick to it. "We still find it hard to believe," said the defender's representative.
F. Manea also revealed some details of the negotiations. At one point, Tottenham was far from what Genoa wanted, but I said that if the clubs reach an agreement, we will choose Tottenham. If not, then God wanted another choice, I mean Bayern.
"Tottenham made a great effort. The owner (Daniel Levy) and the sporting director (Johann Lange) were very happy. They worked hard for it. They worked until three in the morning to reach an agreement," said R. Dragusin's agent.
