Former England national team coach diagnosed with final stage cancer

Former England national team coach Sven-Goran Eriksson shared some very sad news.

The 75-year-old told his country's radio station "P1he" that he had been diagnosed with late-stage cancer.

The famous coach admitted that doctors predict he has about a year left to live at best.

"Everyone has noticed for some time that I have health problems and suspected it was cancer. And it is. I am prepared to fight this disease for as long as possible.

At best, I have a year left to live, but it could be shorter. Of course, anything can happen and I could live longer. I don't think doctors can accurately predict such things.

The best thing is just not to think about it. I have to deceive my brain. I could sit still and think about how unlucky I am. That would be the easiest solution. Still, I am trying to live on, despite this whole situation.

Most shocking is that I didn't feel any symptoms until the diagnosis. I don't feel any pain, but now it is no longer possible to stop this disease, only to slow its progress. It is what it is," - said S. Eriksson.

Sven-Goran Eriksson coached the England national team from 2001 to 2006 and was the first foreign coach of this team.
