Victor Osimhen's transfer to Napoli in 2020 was very expensive. At that time, his value, even with the COVID-19 pandemic in full swing, reached 71 million euros.
As reported by "Sportmediaset," Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentis is accused of falsifying financial data related to V. Osimhen's transfer. Italian prosecutors have launched an investigation.
A. De Laurentis only paid 50 million euros to the French club instead of the agreed-upon 71 million. Furthermore, four Napoli players were involved in the deal. Earlier, there was news about just one player - goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.
Four other players who participated in the deal - Luigi Liguori, Claudio Manzi, and Ciro Palmieri - simply disappeared from professional football after 2020. Orestis Karnezis has also retired by now, but he was a well-known goalkeeper who played for Watford and Udinese.
It is currently unclear where this investigation will lead and whether Napoli and the club's president may face sanctions.
