”Premier” league started with a very dramatic match on Sunday.
”Sheffield United” played 2-2 against ”West Ham United”.
”Hammers” started the game quite slowly, but in the 28th minute managed to score a goal. Maxwell Cornet defeated the ”Sheffield United” goalkeeper after a mix-up.
Before the break, the hosts' newcomer Ben Brereton Diaz equalized the score.
In the 78th minute, a penalty was provoked by Danny Ings, and James Ward-Prowse scored from the spot.
The game in added time was very chaotic. For a rough foul, after a VAR review, young forward Rhian Brewster received a red card. Meanwhile, the visitors' defender Vladimir Coufal managed to receive two yellow cards - one for arguing with the referee, and the other for fouling to stop the opponent's attack.
Soon after, Alphonse Areola committed a foul in the penalty area, suffered an injury, and conceded a penalty into his own goal. Lukasz Fabianski, who stepped onto the field, could not withstand Ollie McBurnie's shot.
The ”Sheffield United” were somewhat closer to the nearest opponents in the league standings.
