Defender Gerard Pique, who belongs to an English Premier League club and has been loaned out to a Spanish Primera Liga team, has been sidelined for a couple of weeks due to a knee injury.
The 20-year-old Zaragoza center-back injured his left knee ligaments during a team training on Wednesday and will miss matches for about a couple of weeks. This was his first training since recovering from a right ankle injury.
"It's unbelievable," said the former Barcelona backup. "I've been very unlucky in recent weeks."
Due to the knee injury, he will miss the Spain U-21 national team's matches next week, but should be fit for Zaragoza's match against Sevilla on May 27.
Manchester United loaned G. Pique this summer, and the Spaniard returned to his homeland to play for Zaragoza, featuring in 19 matches and scoring two goals.
With five rounds remaining in the Spanish league, Zaragoza still has a chance to fight for a spot in the UEFA Champions League, as the club currently sits in 5th place with 55 points, just 4 points behind Valencia in the standings.
