In the Africa Cup of Nations Group C, the Cameroonian national team narrowly beat Gambia with a score of 3:2.

The winners were led 56 minutes into the game by Karl Toko Ekambi. Ablie Jallow equalized the score in the 72nd minute, and Ebrima Colley put the Gambian national team ahead in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, Cameroon equalized the score when James Gomez scored an own goal. In the 90+1 minute, Christopher Wooh scored the winning goal and secured a spot in the quarterfinals for Cameroon.

In other matches in this group, Senegal defeated Guinea 2:0.

Guinea finished in 3rd place in the group, but with 4 points, they advanced to the next stage.
