A new football stadium will be built in Vilnius.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the real estate agency "Hanner" and former famous Lithuanian football player Darvydas Šernas joined forces to build a stadium in Lazdynai microdistrict.

It is planned that the football stadium located on Bukčių street will have an international standard artificial turf pitch, as well as a renovated main stand accommodating up to 300 people, improved seating areas, and a roof. The needs of spectators and stadium visitors will be met by a special modular café building. A modular building on the other side of the square will house changing rooms and showers, a gym, and administrative VFA facilities. It is also planned to install stadium lighting, improve access roads, and provide parking spaces.

"According to the current parameters, our stadium will meet the requirements of UEFA category I stadiums, with the possibility of aiming for a higher category in the future. However, the most important thing is not the category, but the fact that our academy alumni will finally have their own home. I have no doubt that this will provide even more motivation for our athletes and coaches, improve the quality of training, and provide the best conditions for our academy children to develop not only in Vilnius, but throughout Lithuania," said VFA co-founder and director D. Šernas.

It is reported that the project is valued at approximately 2.5 million euros.
