On Thursday in postponed matches of the English Premier League, London's Tottenham played a draw with Blackburn and further strengthened their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Cup tournament.
The visitors took the lead first, when in the 33rd minute, after a pass from Morten Gamst Pedersen from the wing, Benni McCarthy scored with a header. After the break, the visitors could have increased their lead, but Christopher Samba's header hit the crossbar. Shortly after, Jermain Defoe equalized the score.
Towards the end of the match, Blackburn forward Jason Roberts was sent off the field for a second yellow card. In injury time, Tottenham could have snatched victory through Robbie Keane, but his shot hit the post.
