L. Scaloni's message to future generations: "We cannot lose the beauty of football © Reuters

Argentine national team coach Lionel Scaloni, speaking to the newspaper "Marca," discussed the biggest problems in modern football.

The World Cup champion highlighted issues that start from children's football.

L. Scaloni began his monologue: "We are losing the meaning of football. By this, I mean not only the professional level, but also children's football."

My children play in Spain, they receive too much information, instructions. They get the ball and immediately have instructions on what to do next. Nowadays, there are fewer dribbles, as there is always the instruction: "Pass the ball!"

Imagine if someone had instructed Messi, when he was eight years old, to pass the ball. Then he wouldn't be the player he is now.

Football has become such a big thing, everyone studies, reads a lot, thinks that with knowledge one can immediately become a coach. To tell a 7-year-old or 8-year-old to make a diagonal sprint, cover something in defense... he is only seven years old! Let him play with the ball, make mistakes, when he is 14 or 15 years old, then we can start correcting things in the game.

This is a message to future generations. This is sport, we cannot lose the beauty of football," said the world champion.
