After this season, a left knee operation will be performed on the team defender Jonathan Woodgate.
Due to injury, the 27-year-old footballer will not be able to help the English national team in important European Championship qualifying matches against Estonia in London in June, as well as in friendly matches against Brazil, dedicated to the opening of the new "Wembley" stadium.
J.Woodgate started the season at Real Madrid, but was later loaned to Middlesbrough. Finally, the English team bought out the defender's contract for 10 million euros. This year, the player has played 29 matches in the new team.
Middlesbrough, currently occupying 12th place in the Premier League, will end the season on Sunday with a match against Fulham. After these matches, an operation will be performed on J.Woodgate.
