London club coach Arsene Wenger announced that the team will be reinforced with goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from Poland this summer.
This player has been guarding the goal of the Warsaw "Legia" team for the past two seasons.
"Everything is agreed. Lukasz will be our new goalkeeper and will compete for a place in the main lineup next season. He has a great future and will become one of the best goalkeepers," - confirmed A. Wenger.
L. Fabianski is the substitute for Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc in the Polish national team. Arsenal also showed interest in this goalkeeper, just like in Craig Gordon from Hearts.
The young Pole in London will have to compete for a place in the main lineup with the experienced 37-year-old German Jens Lehmann and 29-year-old Spaniard Manuel Almunia.
"Jens and Manuel are top-class goalkeepers. So, the competition will be huge, as Manuel has improved a lot recently. But Jens also works very hard, feeling the competition, and he is very important for the team as an authority," - said A. Wenger.
J. Lehmann's contract with Arsenal will end after the next season.
