34th round: "Barcelona" lost the leader position © EuroFootball.com

On Sunday in the Spanish championships, "Barcelona" unexpectedly played a 1-1 draw at home against Seville's "Betis" and lost the leader position to Madrid's "Real" club, who on Saturday dramatically snatched a 4-3 victory against Barcelona's "Espanyol" in impressive matches, while securing an important victory in the fight for the fourth Champions League spot, "Valencia".

The match at the "Nou Camp" stadium started according to a perfect scenario when, already in the fourth minute, a penalty was awarded after Juanito's foul on Deco, which was successfully converted by Brazilian Ronaldinho.

Although "Barcelona" dominated almost the entire match, at the end of the second half, after Assuncao's pass, Brazilian Rafelis Sobisas equalized the score. Although in extra time "Barca" had at least two opportunities to snatch the victory, they had to settle for a draw, which could be crucial as only four matches remain until the end of the season.

On the other side of the tournament table, important draws were secured by Bilbao Athletic, playing a 1-1 draw at home against La Coruna's Deportivo, now four points clear of the relegation zone.

Chances of staying up increased for San Sebastian's Real Sociedad, who won 3-1 as visitors against absolute underdogs Tarragona's Gimnastic, overtaking Vigo's Celta due to a better goal difference. Celta lost at home 1-2 to Valencia's Levante. The latter is now six points clear of the relegation zone.

Securing an important victory against "Zaragoza", Valencia club sealed the fourth position. The winning goals were scored by defender Emiliano Moretti from Italy and Spain's national team midfielder David Silva.
