In the English Premier League, the midfielder of Liverpool, who finished 6th place in the league, Alan Stubbs, has extended his contract with the team for another year and will stay at Goodison Park until 2008.
“It was very pleasant and easy to remain an honest person. It’s not like I’m 21 years old and making a decision would be very difficult,” the veteran defender said on the club's official website. “I’m pleased to have extended my contract and proud that at 35 years old, I can still play in the English Premier League. It's truly a great moment.”
A.Stubbs, 34, returned to the Everton team in January 2006 after spending a disappointing six months on loan at Sunderland.
Arriving at Everton from Glasgow Celtic as a free agent, he played 117 games in four seasons wearing the Irish shirt.
In the second period under the guidance of David Moyes, he appeared in 38 matches, and this season he scored two goals.
