One of the defensive pillars of "Šiauliai" did not play in Tuesday's "A Lyga" match against "Kaunas". When asked about the reasons for the defender's absence after the match, acting "Šiauliai" manager Ryčius Tavoras temporarily responded: "I cannot comment."
Meanwhile, club representative to the press Egidijus Anglickis of EuroFootball.com confirmed that the player left the club by mutual agreement. The club did not want to comment on the reasons for this decision.
Celebrating his 35th birthday a month and a half ago, the center defender played in all ten matches for "Šiauliai" this season, lasting the full 90 minutes. The player, who represented Klaipėda's "Atlantas" from 2003 to 2006, left due to financial disagreements.
The departure of E. Žukauskas could be a serious loss for "Šiauliai", who lack experienced defenders of the necessary level.
