In the English Premier League, a club that barely secured the 14th place in the championship confirmed that they are parting ways with United States national team striker DaMarcus Beasley and will send him back to the Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven this summer.
Last August, the 24-year-old footballer was loaned to Manchester City for a year, but he failed to impress and the City club decided not to sign a contract with the American legionary.
Although D. Beasley managed to score four goals this season while wearing the "Man City" jersey, he did not meet expectations, and the club, finishing only 14th, decided to return him to the PSV team in the Netherlands.
With defender Trevor Sinclair and full-back Stephen Jordan already announcing their departure from the team, D. Beasley is the most notable player among the six others that Man City plans to let go.
Also leaving the team is 30-year-old Tunisian national team defender Hatem Trabelsi, who arrived from Ajax in Amsterdam based on a contract for the games played and started the season quite successfully but, like many of former coach Stuart Pearce's signings, eventually became unnoticed.
The third player leaving the Manchester club is defender Djamel Abdon, who did not make a single appearance in the main team this season.
Youth defender Ashley Williams, goalkeeper Laurence Matthewson, and Nathan D'Laryea will also depart from the team.
The future of these players was revealed on Monday when the Man City management, due to the team's weak discipline, unsuccessful acquisitions, and embarrassing home match record, decided to dismiss the legendary English national team defender S. Pearce, who led the club for two years.
After the New Year, Manchester City failed to score against opponents at home and became the club that scored the fewest goals at their home ground throughout the history of the English Premier League.
