According to Prince Ali bin al-Hussein of Jordan, Michel Platini is an unsuitable person to lead FIFA, as he was led to his current position by the same corrupt Sepp Blatter.
UEFA president Platini officially announced his candidacy for FIFA presidency elections in July. This happened right after Blatter announced his resignation.
However, in May, having lost to the Swiss, Prince Ali hinted that he might run again and doubted whether Platini would truly bring the much-needed changes to the organization.
"I have great respect for Platini as both UEFA president and as a footballer, but UEFA and FIFA are not the same," - Ali said at the Soccerex convention in Manchester.
"Platini entered football administration as Sepp Blatter's protege. We need a new beginning."
"I heard him, but I want to know that the future will be different from the past. However, I am not sure. This is nothing personal."
Prince Ali also added that he does not believe that Blatter has anything to do with the corruption scandal, for which charges were brought against 14 individuals, and said that the Swiss should have resigned long ago.
